Progress

I started my little-ish hooked rug over a month ago. It's a slow, steady process and while working I wonder how women made rugs to cover their entire homes. Yikes!

Generally I complete a painting in a couple of weeks (at most), and so, I always have new ideas rolling around in my head. It's so difficult for me to stay on task and finish what I have started because my mind is accustomed to moving on to the next thing by now.

Although I'm really wishing I wouldn't have started 'hooking' with such ambitious work and I miss using a paint brush, I don't want to sweep this under the rug before letting it reach it's potential. So, I'm getting off the computer and getting to work!

i hope you know how great this looks. it's really strange to see your hand in this medium, but it's there for sure. very exciting- don't give up on it!

About Me

Brooklyn, NY
I am a artist living in Brooklyn and currently an artist-in-residence with Chashama at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. I have been working in encaustic for the past few years, but am usually trying out a couple of different art making media at once. Peter Everett once called my work kitch, but I don't think it bothers me.
